Business community hails decision of Sialkot-Lahore motorway project
SIALKOT – People belonging to various walks of life including exporters and manufacturers have hailed the decision for launching work on mega project of Sialkot-Lahore Motorway and thanked Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for announcing the project to facilitate the people of Sialkot.
The mega project of Sialkot-Lahore Motorway will be accomplished at a cost of Rs 45 billion within two years. The proposed project will be constructed on BOT (Build Operate and Transfer) basis and its length will be 90.8 KM.
Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Fazal Jilani said on Tuesday that undoubtedly the completion of this mega project would open new vista of prosperity and development in the area which would not only reduce the travelling time but also minimize traffic load on existing roads as well as open new vista of development and prosperity in the area.
The project would also ensure economic boom in the region, Fazal said. The SCCI president appreciated the prime minister for taking a bold step to fulfill his promise and accepting the longstanding demand of local business community and general public. Ex-Senior SCCI Vice President Mian Muhammad Anwar and members of Executive Committee of the SCCI while commenting said that the project would not only fast inter-city travelling facility but also minimize travelling distance between Sialkot and Lahore.
