Hundreds martyred in Hajj stampede
At least 260 pilgrims have died and 450 others injured when a stampede broke out in the tent city of Mina, Al Arabiya News reported on Thursday.
According to reports, a stampede broke out in Mina where around two million pilgrims were taking part in the stoning of the devil, last major rite of the Hajj pilgrimage.
Saudi authorities said that at least 180 pilgrims were martyred and 400 others injured due to the stampede. It may be mentioned here that this is the second incident to claim the lives of hundreds, the first took place when a crane came crashing down in Makkah’s Grand Mosque.
