NICL scam case: SC rejects Moonis review petition
ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday rejected the review petition filed by Moonis Elahi of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scandal case.
The three-member bench headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim heard Moonis Elahi review petition.
During the course of proceedings, Waseem Sajjad, counsel for Moonis Elahi, told the bench that the apex court directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) recovery from Moonis Elahi on the report of Zaffar Qureshi. Feral Investigation Agency (FIA) in its report gave clean chit to his client, he said.
He said that the bank account in England which Zaffar Qureshi mentioned in his report was not belonging to Moonis Elahi. He said that the matter was pending in NAB due to court observation. He pleaded the court to review the verdict in which court directed recovery from Moonis Elahi through NAB.
Justice Amir Hani Muslim remarked that the FIA in its report tried to save its client as the investigation officer who collected material against your client was suspended from service. The bench after hearing the case rejected the Moonis Elahi review petition.
