Pak entrepreneurs invited to exploit Indonesian market
LAHORE – Indonesian Charge d’ Affairs Samsu Rizal has urged Pakistani businessmen to take full advantage of large market of Indonesia.
He was speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here on Thursday. The diplomat said bilateral trade was needed to be enhanced to the maximum as Pakistan and Indonesia were potential markets. He said that Pakistani rice and meat had great demand in Indonesia, therefore, Pakistani businessmen should avail this opportunity.
He said that the LCCI was playing a significant role to strengthen trade and economic relations between Indonesian and Pakistan. He also thanked the LCCI for expressing good wishes for the Indonesian ambassador who lost his life in a tragic incident.
LCCI President Ijaz A Mumtaz said that government to government and private to private interactions could play an effective role. He said there was a lot of scope for Indonesia to make investment in Pakistan. Indonesia had a fairly advanced petro-chemical, rubber, plywood, telecommunication and tourism industry, he said. Indonesia could make direct investment in these industries and could also enter a joint ventures with Pakistani counterparts, he said.
