Scotland Yard team to hold meetings with interior ministry, FIA officials

ISLAMABAD – A three-member team of Scotland Yard investigators arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing investigation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Dr Imran Farooq’s murder.

According to reports, the London police are expected to hold meetings with the Ministry of Interior Affairs and the Federal Investigation Agency officials.

Earlier, in June, a three-member team visited Islamabad to take part in a joint interrogation of one of the accused, Moazzam Ali Khan, involved in the murder of Imran Farooq.

Fifty-year-old Imran Farooq – a founding member of the MQM – was stabbed and beaten to death in Edgware, northwest London, as he returned home from work on September 16, 2010.
