ICC clears Bilal Asif's bowling action
KARACHI – The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday confirmed that the bowling action of Pakistan’s Bilal Asif has been found to be legal, and the player can continue bowling in international cricket.
“At the assessment it was revealed that the amount of elbow extension in all of Asif’s deliveries was well within the 15-degree level of tolerance permitted under the ICC regulations,” said an ICC media release.
Asif was reported after the third ODI against Zimbabwe in Harare on October 5 and the independent assessment was performed at the Sri Ramachandra University testing centre in Chennai earlier this month. He took five wickets for 25 runs in the ODI match against Zimbabwe to get the limelight.
All rounder came into the reckoning for inclusion for the third test match starting in Sharjha on Sunday.
