Shamkhani calls on PM, discusses Zarb-e-Azb
ISLAMABAD – Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Shamkhani called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here at the PM House and discussed matters of mutual interest.
According to a statement issued by the PM House on Thursday, the two sides expressed grief and sorrow with each other over the tragic incidence of Mina in which citizens of both countries passed away.
The prime minister said that Pakistan had rendered invaluable sacrifices in the war against terrorism, adding that Zarb-e-Azb military operation was yielding positive results.
The Iranian envoy said that terrorism had no boundaries, adding that it was a common enemy of both Pakistan and Iran. Both the sides were of the view that a stable Afghanistan was in best interest of both Pakistan and Pakistan.
He said that there was a lot of scope in enhancing economic and communication areas between the two countries. He proposed the establishment of fibre optic link between Pakistan and Iran.
