TRC finalises suggestions to ease tax system
ISLAMABAD: The Tax Reform Commission (TRC) has finalised its recommendations in regard to easing the tax system and to bring changes in the attitude of tax inspectors and publication of all rules and regulations in Urdu.
According to sources of the finance ministry, the TRC has prepared recommendations to enhance the tax net and to ease the tax system. Separate tax forms have been prepared for small traders and salaried people.
“TRC, while terming the attitude of tax officials as main cause in reduction of tax net, suggested that the policy must give respect to the taxpayers while adoption of Income Tax rules and regulations should be made easy to resolve the problems and worries of taxpayers,” the sources added and maintained that a committee would be formed to make tax law understandable and it be given six month time to make all laws in Urdu.
Sources further informed that Prime Minister’s Advisor on Revenue Haroon Akhtar was making efforts to speed up the tax reform programme and achieve the tax target while some officials of FBR, having specific objects, were opposing these tax reforms.
