4.7-magnitude quake hits Malakand division, adjoining areas
ISLAMABAD : An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Basham, Shangla, Malakand division and surrounding areas early this morning.
Mild earthquake measuring 4.7 at Richter scale was also felt in Swat and other surrounding areas on Tuesday morning, reported PTV News.
According to the Met Office, the epicenter was located near Shangla, 26 kilometers from Basham to the east at a depth of 10 kilometer.
The areas rocked by the tremors include Swat, Shangla, Malakand Division and suburban areas.
The panic-stricken people rushed out of their houses and refused to return home. The seismic activity sparked panic among the people, however no casualties were reported so far, Met Office said.
