ARY, QALCO dominate bidding for PSL teams
KARACHI: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has acquired sponsors for its five franchises – sources said on Thursday – as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) looks all set to begin the 24-match series in February.
According to sources – ARY Media Group has won the bid for Karachi Super Stars at a price of $2.6 million – the highest price paid for one of the five teams participating in the Twnety20 series.
QALCO – a Qatar-based oil company – has acquired the rights for Lahore Warriors at a price of $2.51 million. Haier Group has purchased the rights for Peshawar Dozers at a price of $1.6 million.
Pakistan Venture Capital Limited has purchased the rights for Islamabad Blasters at a price of $1.6 million. Omar Associates has won the bid for Quetta Challengers at a price of $1.1 million.
