Daily flights from Istanbul to Karachi doubled
KARACHI: Turkish Airlines, winner of the prestigious “Best Airline in Europe” award for five consecutive years, will be increasing their daily flights to Istanbul from Karachi by double, starting from February 2016.
As per the new schedule, Istanbul flights would be increased from 7 flights to 14 flights per week as of February 29, 2016. Istanbul – Turkey’s largest city – is a popular destination for tourists worldwide. In recent years, the interest of Pakistani tourists for traveling to Istanbul has been consistently growing, which has been the main reason for this decision by the management of the airline.
Turkish Airlines, the national flag carrier of Turkey, has always been committed to strengthening Pak-Turk ties, which is evident from their recent expansion in operations. In 2015, the airline launched daily flights for Islamabad and Lahore that provided direct routes from Turkey to Islamabad and Lahore.
Turkish Airlines also doubled their investment in Pakistan and have some major expansion plans for Pakistan 2016.Turkish Airlines Sindh General Manager said, “It is with great pleasure that I announce our second daily flights from Karachi after several years. Turkish Airlines will be celebrating 35 years in Pakistan in 2016.
We are proud to say that we are the oldest foreign airline in this market and due to the historical relationship between Pakistan and Turkey – we feel we are the second national carrier of Pakistan.
Our goal is to give best quality service with the best fares options to our respected Pakistani customers with our Turkish hospitality as always. These flights will give more alternates to our passengers to reach their destination in Turkey our beyond Turkey with much shorter connection times. The year 2016 will give us a chance to provide our customers with even better services with the help of their support.”
Established in 1933 with a fleet of five aircraft, Star Alliance member Turkish Airlines is a 4-star airline today with a fleet of 277 (passenger and cargo) aircraft flying to 274 destinations worldwide with 226 international and 48 domestic.
According to Skytrax survey of 2014, Turkish Airlines was chosen “Europe’s Best Airline” for the fourth and “Best Airline in Southern Europe” for the sixth consecutive time. Having won in 2010 the world’s “Best Economy Catering Service” and in 2013 the world’s “Best Business Catering Service” awards, Turkish Airlines was this year awarded the world’s “Best Business Catering Service” and “Best Business Class Lounge Dining” prizes in the Skytrax survey.
