Dollar closes flat versus rupee
KARACHI: The greenback closed flat against the domestic unit in interbank market on Monday on insignificant demand from importers. During trading the dollar remained flat at Rs 105 for buying. The dollar closed at Rs 105.20 for selling.
The dollar changed hands at a low of Rs 104.98. The dollar rate differential between kerb and interbank markets remained 40 paisas on average.
The euro gained 35 paisas in the interbank market to close at Rs 114.05 for buying and Rs 114.27 for selling. The pound sterling remained depressed and closed at Rs 158.54 and Rs 158.85 for buying and selling respectively after losing 20 paisas.
Kerb Market: The dollar remained firm against the rupee in the open market after closure flat in interbank, foreign exchange dealers said.
The US dollar closed at Rs 106.40 for buying and Rs 106.45 for selling. It lost 40 paisas in the open market against the rupee.
The demand and supply of dollar in the open market remained dull.
The pound sterling closed at Rs 159.60 for buying and Rs 160.30 for selling.
