Dollar ends flat versus rupee
KARACHI: The greenback closed flat against the domestic unit in interbank market on Wednesday on insignificant demand from importers and a better supply of remittances and export proceeds. During trading the dollar remained flat at Rs 105 for buying. The dollar closed at Rs 105.20 for selling.
The dollar changed hands at a low of Rs 104.96. The dollar rate differential between kerb and interbank markets remained 10 paisas on average.
The euro lost 07 paisas in the interbank market to close at Rs 111.48 for buying and Rs 111.70 for selling. The pound sterling remained down and closed at Rs 158.23 and Rs 159.53 for buying and selling respectively after losing Rs 1.16 paisas.
Kerb Market: The dollar remained firm against the rupee in the open market after closure even in interbank, foreign exchange dealers said. The US dollar closed at Rs 107.20 for buying and Rs 107.45 for selling. It stood 30 paisas high in the open market against the rupee.
The demand and supply of dollar in the open market remained firm and the demand from private sector’s buyers put positive on it’s value in the open market. The pound sterling closed at Rs 160 for buying and Rs 160.70 for selling, it closed down by Re 1 against the rupee while the euro closed down at Rs 113.20 for buying and Rs 113.70 for selling.
