Greenback closes flat versus rupee
KARACHI: The greenback closed flat against the domestic unit in interbank market on Thursday on insignificant demand from importers. During trading the dollar remained flat at Rs 105 for buying. The dollar closed at Rs 105.20 for selling.
The dollar changed hands at a low of Rs 104.97. The dollar rate differential between kerb and interbank markets remained 03 paisas on average.
The euro lost 24 paisas in the interbank market to close at Rs 111.24 for buying and Rs 111.45 for selling. The pound sterling remained depressed and closed at Rs 156.73 and Rs 157.03 for buying and selling respectively after losing Rs 1.50 paisas.
Kerb Market: The dollar remained firm against the rupee in the open market after closure flat in interbank, foreign exchange dealers said.
The US dollar closed at Rs 107.25 for buying and Rs 107.50 for selling. It gained 05 paisas in the open market against the rupee.
The demand and supply of dollar in the open market remained firm as the demand from private sector’s buyers witnessed some improvement.
The pound sterling closed at Rs 160.75 for buying and Rs 161.45 for selling, it closed up by 75 paisas against the rupee while the euro closed firm at Rs 113.50 for buying and Rs 114 for selling. It remained high by 30 on better demand in the kerb.
