Tokyo shares slump after three days of gains

TOKYO: Tokyo shares slipped on Friday morning after three days of gains, as investors eye the outcome of the Bank of Japan’s last policy meeting of the year.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 0.24 percent, or 46.50 points, to 19,307.06 by the lunch break.

The broader Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 0.25 percent, or 3.96 points, to 1,560.75.
