CPEC to equally benefit all provinces; Experts
PESHAWAR : The experts associated with execution of much-trumpeted China Pakistan Economic Project (CPEC) have held the project as historic and backbone for the economic and social development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said the project will certainly change the destiny of its dwellers.
The people who are well conversant with the project, out rightly denied the impression being created by certain quarters in the KP government expressing reservations and concerns over changes in the Western Route and did not agree with the contentions that KP was being deprived of due share and benefits of economic corridor.
Executive Director Pak-China Institute, Islamabad Mustafa Haider Sayyed, and an expert on CPEC told APP that it was a national project that would benefit all the federating units including KP and Balochistan equally and immensely.
Mustafa Haider Sayyed said CPEC offers equal opportunities to all the provinces and regions of the country to develop economically and socially.Mustafa said it is not one road project, but, a multi-sectoral framework covering energy, infrastructure, Gwadar and industrial sector in the country.
He said construction work on 14 early harvest projects on fast track basis has been started under CPEC, adding this project would be completed in 2030.
“CPEC is not related to one government or a political party as it would be completed in 2030 so therefore it is not a party specific project and should not be politicized,” he said, adding all the provinces would reap its benefits.
Associate of Pak-China Institute, Islamabad Hamza Saeed Orakzai, told APP that CPEC western route has been converted to high priority area from priority list of the project during All Parties Conference (APC) held in May 2015.
The federal government is taking keen interest in CPEC project that can be judged from the inauguration of Western Route by the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Zhob-Mughal Kot (N-50) and Qila Saifullah-Wagum (N-70) at Zhob Balochistan in presence of national political leadership, he added.
Hamza Saeed Orakzai said Western route would pass through backward areas of KP and Balochistan which would bring these less developed areas at par with developed parts of the country.
“CPEC has given us historic opportunity to develop backward areas of Pakistan socially and economically therefore it should not be politicized”, he said.
Hamza Saeed Orakzai said Pakistan earnestly needs global investment and CPEC would prove a booster for KP to develop economically and socially, adding CPEC would take the country from geo-strategic areas to geo-economic orbit.
Financial Analyst Department of Commerce and Industries, Khalid Jan said CPEC project after completion would usher an era of prosperity in KP.All the industrial estates falling in the western route will get an economic boom as link roads would develop en-route to western CPEC.
Khalid Jan said Industrial estates at Hattar in Haripur, Marbal City in Manshera over 82 acres, Rashakai in Nowshera over 1000 acres and Ghadoon in Swabi would largely benefit from CEPC.
