KP orders timely completion of hydropower projects
PESHAWAR : Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Energy and Power Secretary Engineer Naeem Khan has expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace and poor quality of work on hydropower projects.
He warned the officers working on development projects of hydel sector for timely completion of Upper and Lower Dir hydropower projects besides maintaining the quality of the work. The secretary paid a surprise visit to project sites in Lower and Upper Dir districts on Sunday.
CEO PEDO Akbar Ayub Khan, concerned DC, consultants and project staff also accompanied him during the visit. During the visit, the Secretary E&P was briefed about the progress of work on 42 MW Koto hydropower project and informed about the land acquisition and security problems facing at project site.
Engr Naeem directed that the current provincial government is working on fast track basis for the implementation of maximum hydel potential in the region and compromise in poor and slow work will be unbearable in this context. He also asked concerned officers to tackle the situation and resolve the issues at earliest. He further directed that slow pace and poor quality of work at projects will not be tolerated and early completion of the project will be appreciated.
