Pakistan beats New Zealand by 16 runs in first T20
AUCKLAND: Pakistan won the first T20 against New Zealand at Auckland’s Eden Garden cricket stadium on Friday.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl first. Pakistan set the target of 172 runs, whereas New Zealand could score 155 runs in 20 overs.
New Zealand’s AF Milne picked four wickets. While chasing the target New Zealand skipper Williamson scored 70 runs of 60 balls. Munro smashed 56 runs after facing 27 balls only.
Pakistan’s opener Mohammad Hafeez luminously scored 61 runs in 47 balls whereas Shahid Afridi scored 23 runs in just 8 balls.
Wahab Riaz got three wickers whereas Umer Gul and Shahid Afirdi bagged two wickets.
Pakistan’s pacer Muhammad Amir made a comeback in international cricket and bagged only one wicket. After five years ban over spot fixing, Amir played his first international match in Auckland.
Shahid Afridi declared Man of the match for his brilliant all round performance.
