PSF hopeful of hosting events of US$ 50,000
ISLAMABAD : Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) has applied to Professional Squash Association (PSA) for hosting events of US 50,000 dollars in year 2016.
Vice President Pakistan Squash Federation Qamar-uz-Zaman said PSA had given the hosting of three events to Pakistan of worth US 25,000 dollar each in 2015, which was a big achievement of the federation.
Qamar-uz-Zaman said 2015 remained a successful year for squash as international players again start visiting Pakistan after a lapse of six years.
He said PSF along with Pakistan Air Force was striving for the promotion and betterment of squash as in 2015 the players of America, Egypt, New Zealand, Afghanistan and some other countries participated in squash events in Pakistan.
The vice president hoped that PSA would award hosting of some events to Pakistan, saying that events of US 10,000 dollars and US 25,000 dollars would be held in the country in 2016, in which renowned international players of top rankings would participate.
He said President Squash Federation Air chief Sohail Amaan was taking keen interest in squash and hopefully the game would regain its lost position soon.
