Waqar offers to quit on team’s poor performance

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket coach Waqar Younis offered his resignation in the backdrop of the team’s poor performance against New Zealand,

According to a private TV channel report, Waqar Younis told the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that he was ready to resign from the post following the worst defeat in recent Twenty20 and One Day International series against New Zealand and England.

Waqar Younis offered his resignation in meeting in which he participated via telephone call.

Skipper of Pakistan T20 Shahid Afridi also met with selection committee in Lahore

where they discussed team performance and future planning for upcoming Twenty20 World Cup and Asia Cup.
