PBS to make strategy for census in Country: Dar
ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister for state Ishaq Dar has said that the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics should chalk out a revised plan of action for holding census in the country in consultation with other stakeholders.
He was chairing a meeting on Saturday to review arrangements for the planned Housing and Population Census 2016.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) Chief Statistician Asif Bajwa gave the meeting an update on the arrangements undertaken so far by the bureau and the level of preparedness of other related government bodies.
The minister also gave instructions that the updated plan be prepared on fast track basis so as to share it with the members of the Council of Common Interest for consideration in its upcoming meeting. He said it was resolve and endeavour of the government to hold the census in a befitting manner while ensuring its credibility and transparency, and all efforts would be made to achieve this objective.
