Malik hopes to beat India in T20 Final

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s milder order batsman Shoaib Malik is keen to face India in the Twenty20 Asia Cup final, believing that Pakistan will do better against the traditional rivals now.

“We want to play India in the final again and we know we can do well against them. It is all a matter of just adapting to the different conditions here,” he was quoted as saying by a prominent sports website on Tuesday.

Shoaib pointed out that Pakistan were a formidable bowling line-up, consisting of good fast bowlers and effective spinners and it was their batting that needed to step up.

Shoaib felt sorry for the fans and said, “We all know just how disappointing the defeat to India must have been to our supporters back home. We know how much emotions are involved in a match with India and we would like to make amends.”

In the recently concluded Asia Cup match against India, Pakistan’s batting crumbled and they were bowled out for a paltry 83.
