Looks like the love between World T20 captain Darren Sammy and Pakistan growing.

After Pakistan Super League, Peshawar Zalmi player learnt Pashto and won the hearts of Pakistanis. Later PSL franchise Javed Afridi requested the government to grant ‘honourary citizen’ to the Indies player for showing his love for the country.

The announcement was made via tweet of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak that they are “honoured” to offer citizenship to Sammy.

Sammy acknowledged and accepted the offer of the chief minister. Sammy was a part of the first edition of Pakistan Super League which took place in the UAE in February 2016.

Sammy also thanked his Pakistani fans in Pashto and call  it a “very sweet language.”

He sends a video message in Pashto to all his Pakistani fans for supporting him throughout the World T20.

“I want to thank my Pakistani fans for their support and will come to Pakistan soon,” he said. “God bless Javed Afridi,”he added.

Me trying to reach out to my Pakistani fans @jafridi10 thanks for the support
