EOBI to launch a new ATM to facilitate their pensioners
ISLAMABAD: The Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) would introduce a new Automated Teller Machines (ATM) card system to facilitate their pensioners.
According to the official sources, the pensioners registered with the EOBI would be able to withdraw their pensions through ATM cards. Sources said that the EOBI has started work on this project. The registration process of the pensioners from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Quetta was started on May 23 and would end on September 30 adding that the pensioners would start receiving pensions through ATM cards from October 1 of this year.
Meanwhile, the pensioners hailing from other cities can register in any branch of Bank Alfalah till November 30 and would start receiving pensions through ATM cards from December 1, they said. The pensioners can contact helpline 0800-3624 for assistance, guidance and facilitation.
The pensioners, who have completed the process of biometric registration in Bank Alfalah were asked to contact 111 225 229 for activation of their ATM cards, sources added.
The EOBI pensioners would continue receiving pensions from designated branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) till activation of the new system. The source revealed that the main aim of this step was to enable the EOBI pensioners to get their pension in a hassle free environment.
