Federal Cabinet likely to approve Issuance of Rs 10 Coin
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has convened a meeting of the federal cabinet on Wednesday to give a go-ahead to development goals programme, revision of design of Rs 5 coin and induction of Rs 10 coin in the currency.
The cabinet is going to approve recommendations forwarded by Cabinet Committees on Restructuring and Privatization and will give green signal to Prime Minister’s Sustainable Development Goals programme.
Tax Laws Amendment Ordinance 2016 will also be put before the federal cabinet today for approval. Agenda of the meeting also includes decision over fixed sales tax on petroleum products.
The meeting was earlier convened on Saturday but decisions in the aforementioned matters were delayed until Wednesday.
Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi among others are attending the meeting.
Earlier on Tuesday, the premier addressed Cabinet Committee on Energy the federal capital. The Prime Minister said that the power projects which were underway would meet the demand of electricity in the country.
The country has not witnessed such a huge investment in energy sector and with the increase in power generation, economic activities would boost, he said.
Younus Dhaga, Secretary Water and Power told the briefing that all ongoing projects of power generation would be completed by March 2018.
