Pakistan Coast Guards arrest 90 Illegal Immigrants
Karachi: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) arrested 90 illegal immigrants by cordoning off the entry and exit routes of areas bordering Iran in Gwadar and Taftan districts of Balochistan today.
While talking to Business Plus Reporter, the spokesperson Pakistan Coast Guard Major Muzaffar Ahmed Siddiqui said that around 1152 people so far been detained in the current year trying to flee the country.
“The detainees after initial investigation will be handed over to Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) for further interrogation since it has been observed that more people hailing from banned organizations are fleeing the country to escape Zarb-e-operation”, he added.
When inquired whether is there possibility of economical issues compelling people to flee, he was on opinion that it could not be ruled out, however, FIA has been directed to check the past criminal record of detainees.
It is pertinent to mention that Several Pakistanis have been arrested near Taftan in the past after paying a heavy amount to agents in order to reach European countries via Iran and Turkey through illegal routes
