Pakistan deserves top position in world test rankings: Misbah

Captain Misbah Ul Haq

London: Following the fabulous victory of Pakistan cricket team against host team England in the Oval ground, the most ever defensive Pakistani batsman and current test captain, Misbah Ul Haq was on opinion that Pakistan Cricket Team deserves first position in test ranking list for recognition of their success despite being unable to host games at home.

Recently, Pakistan has won the final test against England in its own ground of the Oval, leveling the series by 2-2.

It is pertinent to mention that if Sri Lanka defeats Australia by a margin of 2-0 (or better) and West Indies draws the Port of Spain Test, Pakistan would ascends to first position in the test rankings for the first time since the official rankings were introduced in 2003.

Previously, the national team had secured second position by winning over England, again, in the UAE back in 2015.

Misbah believes that matches should be hosted in the UAE until the situation at home is unfavourable due to concerns over the security.

“The team desperately in hunt of an opportunity to host matches as for last six years we have not hosted a game in own ground,” Misbah said.

Moreover, he said that people usually have a perception that wickets in the UAE suit us and the team possessed a privilege there but ground realities are contrary to it.

“Just living every passing-day away from your country, in absence of family members and friends, and playing every game away from Native Land is indeed a difficult job and mentally tough”, he remarked.

“I only see my mother once a year. Some of my friends, I could not see them for three to four years because of my commitments”, he further asserted

By putting more light into difficulties that players are going through, he was on point that they are out of their country most of the time which causes stress sometimes.
