Jumanji 2: Welcome to the Jungle’s new amazing trailer released
Jumanji’s sequel is set to debut with Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart and Jack Black lead an all-star cast in Jumanji 2: Welcome to the Jungle, which will be released on Christmas day later this year.
Four high school kids are instructed to clean the basement as part of detention. One of them finds a video game named Jumanji there. But as soon as they start playing it, they are transported to a fantasy land of jungle, in the midst of extraordinary creatures.
The best part of the trailer is that it touches upon the underlying theme of this fun adventure film. Their professor detains them till they figure out ‘what they are’.
They went on to transform into video game characters and are left to discover their special powers in order to survive in the unforgiving jungle. Thus, the film appears to deal with existentialism though in the most Jumanji way possible.
Indeed, beyond the main cast, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillen and Jack Black, everything else in the 20-second teaser is a vague hint of things to come.
The first Jumanji, starring Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst and Bradley Pierce, was based off a 1981 children’s book of the same name.
Jumanji 2: Welcome to the Jungle is expected to release this Christmas on 20 December 2017.
