KP Budget worth Rs 603 billion for FY 2017-18 presented in Assembly
PESHAWAR: Finance Minister of KP Muzzafar Said presented fifth budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government on Wednesday with total outlay of Rs603 billion in provincial assembly for fiscal year 2017-18.
Delivering the budget speech, Muzzafar Said said that the KP government is struggling for human resources development. When we took over the government, KP govt found all institutions and departments in disarray.
The annual budget for next fiscal year with a total outlay of Rs603 billion, announces 10% raise in the salaries and pensions of provincial government employees.

Ad hoc relief for the year 2010 has been merged with salaries
Around Rs49.4 billion allocated for health related projects, Health budget represents a 31% increase from the outgoing fiscal year’s budget
Rs127.9 billion allocated for education sector
Rs29.7 billion allocated for the provincial police
Rs1 billion allocated for Billion Tree Tsunami Afforestation
Rs460 million allocated for the Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Department project
Special Education Complexes would be built in Charsadda and Mardan
About 47,000 patients would get free treatment for TB
1,300 cancer patients will also get free treatment.
Government has also planned to recruit 3,900 lady health workers for better service delivery
Rs14 billion allocated for 77 schemes of the primary and secondary education
Rs6.3 billion would be spent on 64 projects in the higher education sector
The Insaf Health Card system will be extended to the province
Around 1.8 million registered families would get Rs30,000 per member at the secondary care level.
