Development work on first phase of Bhara Kahu Housing project to be started soon

Islamabad : Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani assured that the development work on the first phase of Bhara Kahu Housing project in the capital will soon be started.

Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Khalida Mansoor, he said that the land for the housing scheme was procured in 2009 but the private developer could not fulfill its obligations. Now after the arbitration of the NAB in the light of the directions of the Supreme Court we are close to signing a new agreement with the contractor.He said under the new agreement, the contractor will develop the plots on a land of eight hundred canals.

Responding to another calling attention, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad rejected the impression that the power tariff has been increased by 3.90 rupees.

He said though there are issues of pilferage and the circular debt, yet the government is trying its best to provide maximum relief to power consumers.

Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Shaikh Aftab Ahmed moved before the house a motion expressing deep gratitude to the President for his address to the joint sitting of the parliament.
