FBR extends deadline for filing of tax returns to Dec 15
Karachi (Web Desk): Ministry for Finance approved extension in the due date for filing of Income Tax Returns/Statements by Companies, salaried individuals, other individuals and AOPs, till December 15, 2017.
The last date for filing the returns for 2016-17 was earlier announced to be November 30.
It was felt that the taxpayers could not find ample time for filing their tax returns. The due date for filing of returns had therefore been extended.
All those whose annual salary from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 is above Rs.400,000 are required to file their income tax returns along with wealth statement for the financial year 2016-17.
Usually, the FBR extends the deadline many times a year to encourage people to file their returns.
