FIA stops Rao Anwar from fleeing to Dubai
Islamabad (Online): The FIA has countered suspended Malir SSP Rao Anwar’s attempt to leave the country from the Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
The FIA refused to let Anwar board a Dubai-bound flight around midnight due to his suspicious travel documents.
SSP Anwar is highlighted in an inquiry into the extrajudicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud, a 27 year citizen of Waziristan who was among four suspected terrorists killed in an ‘exchange of fire’ with a police team in Shah Latif Town, Karachi.
SSP Anwar and his entire team of at least thirteen members did not appear on Monday morning before the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Allah Dino Khowaja and members of the National Commission for Human Rights at the Central Police Office.
Naseemullah had arrived in Karachi a year ago and was running a garment shop at Al-Asif Square in Sohrab Goth, according to sources.
Naseemullah’s father arrived in Karachi on Saturday and demanded justice for the extrajudicial murder of his son.
“I want justice for my son,” his father said. Naqeebullah’s father said the entire country was saddened by the killing of his son.
A tribal assembly of elders of the Mehsud tribe have camped in the Sohrab Goth area.
Naseemullah better known as Naqeeb Mehsud was recently killed by Malir SSP Rao Anwar, in an encounter in Karachi on January 13.
