Japan claims to be the new nucleus of Bitcoin
Tokyo (AFP): Japan has been dubbed the heart of bitcoin as the country has shown unwavering support for the cryptocurrency.
Known as “Miss Bitcoin” on Japanese social media, Mai Fujimoto says she invests all of her savings in the virtual currency that has proved a huge hit in Japan.
The country is no longer concerned about the longevity of bitcoin as it believes 2017 saw an end to the fear surrounding bitcoin and its volatility.
Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) developed clear and fair laws to regulate digital currency exchanges.
Although there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the fabled inventor Satoshi Nakamoto, it is a Japanese name. It origins may be unsure but it has a strong link to Japan.
Japan has also endured its bitcoin related fiascoes as Mt.Gox a bitcoin exchange based in Tokyo announced bankruptcy in 2014.
