LHC orders Punjab Police to arrest offenders in Zainab case

Lahore (Web Desk): The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Mansoor Ali Shah on Friday gave Punjab police 36 hours’ time to arrest the offenders behind the rape and murder of 7-year-old Zainab in Kasur.

During the hearing, the Chief Justice ordered to utilize the entire police force to capture the accused. He also directed to submit report comprising of all the rape cases in Punjab.

The chief justice inquired from the Punjab Inspector General Arif Nawaz, who appeared in court today, what became of the cases lodged of other similar events in Kasur, and wondered if those cases were even registered at all.

An unfortunate incident occurred in Kasur, which has worried and disturbed everyone, CJ Shah remarked during the hearing.

He said he had heard that several such incidents had taken place in the province and summoned details of all such incidents from the police.
