LHC reserves the verdict on plea against Mall road protest
Lahore (Web Desk): The Lahore High Court on Wednesday reserved the decision on petition filed against the grand opposition sit-in protest at Mall road.
A larger bench lead by Justice Aminuddin Khan and comprising Justices Shahid Jamil Khan and Shahid Karim heard the case.
Justice Shahid Kareem inquired about the steps taken by Punjab government to stop the sit-in over which Advocate General said that the protesting parties have already been informed about the security threats.
At outset of the hearing, the bench expressed extreme displeasure over non-appearance of Punjab government’s Chief Secretary.
The bench further remarked that there is no reference of any law quoted in the government notification which is strange.
It is to be mentioned here that the plea requested the court to disallow political parties to hold protest on Mall Road for security concerns.
