Rao Anwar to be arrested over non-cooperation, investigation Officer
Karachi (Web Desk): SSP Investigation Malir Abid Qaimkhani said on Monday the arrest orders for the debarred Rao Anwar could be issued over non-cooperation in the investigation of an ‘extrajudicial killing’ case.
According to the details, the inquiry committee awaited Rao’s appearance before it for a grilling session but he didn’t turn up, unable to contact the former Malir SSP.
SSP Qaimkhani said that the case will be investigated on merit, and no pressure of anyone will be taken by the department.
A committee formed to probe the killing of Naqeebullah found the 27-year-old innocent. It termed Anwar’s allegations against Naqeebullah baseless.
Rao Anwar has announced that he will not appear before the probe team, claiming that he is facing a one-sided inquiry.
High-ranking police officials had arrived at the Central Police Office and waited for Anwar and four other officials who had been summoned.
Anwar failed to appear before the probe committee and Inspector General Police Sindh AD Khawaja today.
While referring to the probe committee, he said there was no point in going where there was no hope for justice.
