SC adjourns “Zainab muder case” till 20th Jan
Islamabad (Online): The Supreme Court held a hearing on rape and murder case of Zainab today.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar uttered annoyance over lack of progress in the case.
The bench remarked that the whole nation is saddened due to this incident.
According to details, Mian Saqib Nisar headed a three-member bench including Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan.
CJP stated that no timeframe can be given to arrest the suspect.
Further added that the court that a similar incident occurred with a girl name Kainat. The victim had survived but is unable to speak now, he added.
The court has adjourned the proceedings till 20th January. The next hearing will be conducted at Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry.
The AIG ensured that DNA samples of 400 suspects have been taken. SC has summoned answers from the JIT and head of forensic lab on Saturday.
