Bismillah engineering’s Chief executive behind Bars of NAB
Lahore (Web Desk): National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested the Chief Executive of Bismillah Engineering Services Shahid Shafiq reportedly upon identification of Ahad Cheema.
Late Saturday after it was discovered that a contract worth Rs 14 billion granted to his company, despite the company being a C-4 category subsidiary company of Paragon City according to NAB officials, Shafiq’s company was part of Lahore Caca Developers, a joint venture, which has been declared ineligible to receive contract.
The bureau will attempt to obtain Shafiq’s 15-day physical remand from court. NAB also obtained important data from Cheema’s mobile phone and laptop. NAB also categorically stated Ahad Cheema’s arrest was according to the constitution and that no influence would be taken into account from any quarter.
In harmony with the accused Ahad Cheema, a high-level meeting was held in GOR headed by the Chief Secretary Punjab in which excerpt the powers of Chairman NAB through an ordinance was mulled.
