ECP issues Senate election schedule of all four provinces

Lahore (Online): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued Senate election schedule of all four provinces today.

The contestants can take back their nomination papers till February 16.

According to the ECP, polling to elect senators will be held on March 3, whereas nomination papers will be submitted from February 4-6 and their inquiry will be completed by February 9, the final list of the contestants will be issued on February 15.

The ECP also stated that schedule for the seats reserved for FATA will be announced later.

According to the ECP:

Four senators will be elected on general seats from FATA.

Eleven from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Eleven from Balochistan.

Twelve from Sindh.

Twelve from Punjab.

Islamabad too will elect two senators on general and technocrat seats.

The Election Commission of Pakistan ECP on Monday finalised the schedule for Senate elections, setting March 3 as the date of the polling.

As per the schedule, the candidates can submit nomination papers from February 4-6 and the security will be done by Feb 9. The Senate elections will be held on March 3 for the 52 vacated seats.
