OGRA Suggests an 8.9% hike in price of Petroleum products
Islamabad (Web Desk): Citizens are likely to face an increase of Rs 3.56/litre (4.2%) in the price of petrol, Rs 6.9/litre (7.2%) in diesel, Rs 6.28/litre (8.9%) in superior kerosene oil and Rs 1/ litre (1.6%) in light diesel oil.
If approved by the government, the price of high-speed diesel will exceed Rs102 per litre.
Synopsis is, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), in addition to diesel, has suggested a 4.2% increase in the price of petrol, which is mostly used by motorists.
Petrol and diesel are the most commonly consumed petroleum products in Pakistan.
Overall, the regulator suggested up to 8.9% hike in prices of petroleum products as crude oil rates surged in the international market according to summary of OGRA received by The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) on Tuesday.
