Chinese envoy calls on Army Chief
RAWALPINDI: Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa today at the General Headquarters.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that matters of mutual interest including regional security were discussed in the meeting.
Ambassador Jing also appreciated Pakistan Army’s achievements and efforts for peace and stability in the region.
Earlier, COAS visited Bahawalpur Corps headquarters wherein he was briefed on the operational preparedness of troops.
During the visit, Army Chief appreciated the Corps for keeping themselves well prepared for response against any threat on eastern border as per assigned tasks,” the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.
On March 17, COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa met the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the Chinese Foreign office in Beijing. Both reaffirmed the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Chinese minister expressed understanding of the challenges faced by Pakistan, its geopolitical relevance and the contributions towards regional peace and stability.
