Nehal Hashmi summoned again by SC over his post release outrage
Islamabad (Web Desk): Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’ former legislator Nehal Hashmi on Wednesday (tomorrow) pertaining to a contempt of court case
The directives were issued as a chief justice-led three-member bench took up Hashmi’s intra-court appeal against his disqualification as a senator last month on contempt charges.
Nehal Hashmi, in his speech, had expressed that he was victimized, referring to the decision handed down by the supreme court.
“This is the height of oppression, this is the state of this country,” said Hashmi who was showered with rose petals upon his release. Hashmi had used abusive language and also lamented that he had been made a target of revenge because he had stood by deposed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
In a dialogue with Nehal Hashmi’s lawyer Kamran Murtaza Chief Justice Saqib Nisar said, “Are you listening what he is saying?” Should we order to file a case against him or increase his punishment, CJP asked. In reference to Nehal Hashmi’s speech after his release from Adyala Jail on 28th February whch was played in the court.
Kamran Murtaza apologized for his speech and pleaded court not to write abusive words on the court order.
