PSL3: International players gets warm welcome, Lahore euphoria as cricket comes home
Lahore (Web Desk) : The city of gardens is all set to host Pakistani and foreign players for the Pakistan Super League (PSL3) eliminator matches, slated to take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at the city’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Seventeen foreign players from six different countries and seven-member coaching staff reached Lahore in the wee hours of Tuesday to participate in the two eliminators of the third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL3).
The players and coaching staff reached Lahore from Dubai on flight EK-622. They were warmly received at the Allama Iqbal International Airport by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials, officers of local administration and high ranking police officials.
The players travelled to Pakistan in foreign airlines and arrived here in Lahore at different times during the night, following which they reached their hotel amid stringent security protocol.
The PSL’s initial matches have concluded in Dubai and Sharjah and the tournament will now move to Lahore, before concluding with the final in Karachi.
The final will take place at the National Stadium in Karachi on March 25.
Reigning champions Peshawar Zalmi will face two-time finalists Quetta Gladiators in the first eliminator of the PSL3 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium today (Tuesday). The match will start at 7:00pm PST. The winner of this match will take on Karachi Kings in the second eliminator at the same venue on Wednesday. The winner of second eliminator will face Islamabad United in the PSL3 final on Sunday.
