Star cricketer ‘Shahid Afrdi’ celebrates 38th birthday today
Karachi (Web Desk): Pakistan cricket heartthrob and star all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi is celebrating his 38th birthday today (on Thursday).
Afridi, who made his debut in cricket as a 16-year-old and slammed a record-breaking 37 ball 100 at the same age, has had an illustrious cricketing career.
Afridi became famous due to his hard-hitting batting especially after he broke the record of fastest ODI century after reaching his hundred in just 37 balls.
Afridi is currently part of Karachi Kings team in the ongoing third edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL). In last two seasons of PSL, he was the president and player of Peshawar Zalmi.
In ODI cricket Afridi has scored 8064 runs and bagged 395 wickets. He is also the record wicket-taker in T20Is with 97 wickets.
Afridi was the first among the three players who scored 1000 runs and took 50 wickets in the T20I format so far. The Pakistan all-rounder scored 1405 runs and bagged 97 wickets in the T20Is.
Afridi is the only player to hit 300 sixes in the ODI cricket. Sanath Jayasuriya’s 270 sixes are the 2nd most in this format.
Shahid Afridi is the only Pakistan player to feature in 500 International games. Afridi’s 398 ODI appearances are also the most for a Pakistan player.
