Zalmi thrashed Kings to qulify for PSL 2018 final

LAHORE (web desk) : Peshawar Zalmi thrashed Karachi Kings by 13 runs and in the second eliminator and qualifies for final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2018. Kamran Akmal was declared Man of the Match.

Zalmi posted a massive total of 170 runs in the rain-effected match of 16 overs. Kamran Akmal made 77 and breaks the record of fastest fifty in just 17 balls. Other remarkable scorers were ADS Fletcher (34), Darren Sammi (23), Dawson (13) and Mohammad Hafeez (13)

For Kings, Ravi Bopara was the pick of the bowlers as he took three wickets.

A resilient fightback by the Kings batsmen, led by Babar Azam’s 63 off 45, was not enough as the team could only score 157 runs with the loss of two wickets in the specific 16 overs. Hassan Ali and Sameen Gul got one wicket each.

Karachi Kings’ stand-in captain Mohammad Amir supposed that today was Kamran Akmal’s day. “Whatever he hit connected today. It would’ve been fun to play the final in Karachi. For now, we’ll have to learn from our mistakes,” he said.

Peshawar Zalmi will face Islamabad United in grand finale at Karachi’s National Stadium on March 25, Sunday. The first time a Pakistan Super League third eddition match will be held in big city of Pakistan.
