Enforced disappearances grave crime and pressing matter for the country: Nawaz

PM visits Captain Mobin’s home, consoles family

Islamabad (Web Desk) : Leader of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) while addressing the media at the accountability court said that the contentious issue of missing persons is a more pressing matter for the country on Tuesday.

Nawaz Sharif appeared at the court hearing corruption cases against his family and him. He said that it was a grave crime to make a person disappear without leaving any hint whether they were breathing or dead.

The phenomenon of enforced disappearances commonly referred to as missing persons’ issue has been a contentious matter in Pakistan for years.

Sharif expressed concern over the thought of what the families of missing persons had to go through.

Upon being inquired about Monday’s defection of eight party members from South Punjab, Nawaz said that such members were never a part of the party. He added that such people defamed politics by shifting their loyalties with the favorable side with time.

Sharif stated that the party management had their eyes on them and foresaw their wavering nature. He added that a similar party emerged in Balochistan out of nowhere as if some exposure descended upon these members from somewhere.

Nawaz claimed that PML-N sweeping the recent Lodhran by-poll elections reflected people’s trust and contentment with the party’s efforts for development.
