Finance Ministry to Consider Tax Proposals Relating to IT and Telecom Sector
Islamabad (web desk ): Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance, Dr. Miftah Ismail has considered tax relief proposals submitted by IT and Telecommunications sectors for the budget 2018-19
Dr. Ismail was directing a meeting to discuss the tax proposals of the IT ministry in Islamabad, where he said IT and Telecommunications sectors are very important sectors of the economy and will be given due consideration.
The meeting noted that the telecom sector has shown impressive growth in the last many years and efforts should be made to further improve the growth momentum.It was decided that further deliberation would be done by FBR & MoIT to finalize the appropriate tax proposals with a view to give a boost of these important sectors.
The meeting was also attended by Ministers of State for Finance as well as IT&T, the Federal Secretaries of the two Divisions, Chairman FBR, Acting Chairman PTA and other officials of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of IT&T and PTA as well representatives of the IT industry.
Meanwhile, talking to a private news channel, the Advisor said the tax net is being widened and people will now have to register them with FBR to purchase property.
